The Old Skool arrived in 1977 as the Style 36, the first Vans to carry the side stripe that founder Paul Van Doren drew freehand. Canvas quarters with suede at the toe and heel, on the waffle rubber outsole.
The side stripe was drawn freehand in 1977 and has not needed redrawing since.
